Our new vessels for CAHOOTS!
After the buzz around the opening of Beaver Lodge in Chelsea, for whom we designed and made all kinds of drinking vessels from strokably-soft grizzly bear cocktail sharers to elk head punch bowls, just before Christmas, we were super-chuffed to start work on yet another new Inception Group bar – Cahoots – in the New Year! Last night saw the grand opening of this fabulous 1940s Underground station-themed bar – sister company CheekyTiki completed the design and fit-out, and you can clearly see the difference that it makes in a bar space when every single little detail has been lovingly sourced or made. From the wooden stair treads replicating the older style escalators of the time (handmade in our workshops) to the carefully-chosen Metro tile colours and use of re-worked archive upholstery fabrics from the “Underground” collection at Kirkby Design… it’s a pretty special space, and it’s no wonder Cahoots has been featured in Time Out, Evening Standard, Grazia, BuzzFeed Barchick, The Nudge, The Daily Mail, and more in the past week alone!
Once again we were charged with vessel making, from creating giant wooden station clock sharers (Time Out have coined the phrase “clocktail”) with backwards-ticking hands and dry ice smoking out from the base just as if you were on a real eerie station platform, to enamel milk churn dispensers with brass spigots, vintage-style food tin can cups, a luggage trolley mobile bar complete with original station trolley and enamel trunks, and our classic Vera Lynn ceramic cocktail mugs (also made here in Hackney and complete with Dame Vera Lynn’s seal of approval!)… We were lucky enough to be at a very special preview night last week – and we cannot wait for our next visit. You’re promised 3 key ingredients for a great night (the 45 stunning cocktails are soooo good): “High spirits, Scoundrels and Swing“! Well done Inception Group – it’s fabulous!
Cahoots Kingly Court, London, W1B open Monday – Wednesday: 5pm-1am; Thursday & Friday: 5pm-2am; Saturday: 7pm-3am
